Our Story

Like many of you, Linda and I purchased a timeshare while we were on vacation. We were in Orlando and staying with her mom and dad at their timeshare. We were invited on a tour and offered dinner for four at Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World. Little did we know that would become the most expensive dinner we would ever eat.

We bought a three-bedroom unit with a lockout for about $20,000. During the next several years, we enjoyed our timeshare and spent many wonderful years together as a family. We felt truly blessed. After our two kids grew up and left home, we stopped using the timeshare. We were banking our weeks with the exchange company, but soon the weeks were expiring due to inactivity. Every Christmas we would write out a check for our annual maintenance fees and question why we were keeping something and not using it.
